MVD customers who may have received an error on their emissions status should contact the MVD customer service hotline to speak with an MVD representative. The statewide number is 602-712-2700 and is available Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. MVD apologizes for any inconvenience.

Emissions Testing

Emissions testing is only required in the Phoenix (Area A) and Tucson (Area B) metropolitan areas. You can verify if your vehicle is required to go through emissions testing by using an online interactive map | View Map >

Once on the map:

• Select your county in the upper-left-hand corner
• Enter your ZIP Code
• Results indicate if your vehicle is 'required' or 'not required' for emissions testing
